i think when you get close to ranking up you try as hard as you can and after ranking up you get the feeling of relief and maybe won't try as hard as usual for a while. Just a thought

maybe you rank up and you feel like your stressed about losing your rank again. that way losing your winstreaks
had that myself as well ):

I dont know man, but you are not the only one who has noticed this, so either its rigged or its psychology 101, you see rankup is close you get stressed about it thinking about will you win or lose? What if you get losing streak again etc, so your brain goes hyper mode and its proven that we play 10 times worse when we are stressed.

Or you have simply peaked, we all have 1 point of MMR where we are stuck for a while until we make some drastic changes about our plays...

yeah maybe that could be the reason.

“After medal ranked”, i played more relaxed, over confident that can still dominate, underestimate enemy players, ego strike and think i can still win.

and when

“About to ranked up”, stress strikes eager to win, high temper towards teammates, forgetting that DotA is a game to created for fun.

so bottom line is be cool at all times, enjoy the game, losing is an opportunity to learn and improve ourselves.

Exactly, forget about the medal and just play the game, dont even look at it, its unnecessary distraction even if you get rank up its only +25 MMR, you wont play better or worse because of it.

I mean even if you get Ancient 5, season end is close and medal threshold is at its lowest point, so next season you will start with 3-5 stars less because MMR will deflate drastically. So it doesnt matter in the end.

Better to focus on your mechanics and hero pool, because those are things that make you a better player not your medal.

You usually won't tryhard again after achieving your goal meaning you'll drop unless you set higher goals

I have experienced the same went from ancient something to divine 3 this season. After every rank up i lost insta 10+ games. Hardest were divine 2 and divine 3 with loss around 500mmr after the new medal :).
Could be me and my limited hero pool but there where a lot of troll's in the last games aswell.

Ranked matches seem to be a bit broke overall - 80% of the games are extrem onesided stomps.

I remember getting matched against you on my new smurf, I was playing tinker and u were playing magnus, you had many times where you were away from your team leading to you getting picked off and eventually lose the game. If you want to play support better, try sticking with your team more often.

no its not about mindset, its about system that want force ur winrate to be 50%, no matter the cost! u can just check my 5 last games, all of them unbalanced, (except one i think) , 3 feeder , 4 feeder , .... and in all of them i won the lane for team, but when ur pos 3,4,5 u cant win fucking game solo!
i dont wanna blame team, just u can sense the skill difference between ur matches, and these are the worst players i seen in my life!

I took out pos 5 as you committed too much so your carry feeds and you cant get his recovery farms to get relevant items. I understand the feeling.

I recently ranked up and i won/lost like usually, nothing changed.

Btw how do people have these sick 20 games winstreak, my best winstreak is 10 and my worst losing streak is 8, usually its just 3-6 games i win or lose in row.

my longest winstreak is 16. losing streak is 10. best winstreak hero CK 25.

@abyss yeah i played bad on that game. i was actually nearby PA. stacking and buffing him... i remember you had BH running all over the map. so its kind of synergy to you as tinker.

I think that's what MAtchMaking does, you will be granted a losing team each time you win more, giving them chance to stop their losing streak and prove yourself worthy more than the enemy team (which is why you deserve the +25 if you win) or you are no better than them as well as require the 50% win chance for you to win this game (thus you should stay in your bracket, -25)

hmm why its harder to win on higher rank games

same problem....goes away after a while on its own ...i don't understand how or why it works...but once i rank up like one star i go on a small streak of win lose win lose win lose.....kinda frustrating
