If see low aoe/catch first 4 heroes I consider Meepo (Meepo shit now) or Brood, then I check last picks profile and overwolf if they have it on, if they play a lot of ez Brood matchups I pick Brood and most times 100% win. Just learn those 2 its easy to get Divine-Immortal if u have good basic mechanics, and learn when to pick these, Meepo gonna get buffed soon but I wouldn't pick him until then.

^ ur a clown, everyone will get the best pick possible, u think ur cool taking a shitty pick for "real skill" thats one way to be stuck at some shit MMR cause u refuse to pick well, DOTA is not league, u get hard countered and ur fucked, picking and predicting enemy picks is a skill of its own and many people dont have it.

drafting is part of the game and it shows how good u are as much as other things do.
that fact aside, picking broken meta heroes will give u fake mmr, but it will boost your understanding of the game too. if u pick garbage ass hero, u should play perfectly to make it work, AND U ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO! u have less room for mistakes.
less room for mistakes => less experience gained per game => less understanding
Mate sf and lina both are team dependent heroes. You are better not relying on them if u want to get some wins. There are better heroes to pick which are clinkz, brood (has many counters carefully pick it), huskar, even magnus (quitely strong right now), necro for pos 2. You can easily win with them if you know what you are doing.
i amnot suggesting picking a dogshit hero i am just suggesting playing a hero and learning it so that you can focus less on hero nuance and more on the game. in all honesty, i dont think your picks matter nearly that much in lower brackets, people make so many mistakes, poeople dont punish things that they should, like until you reach a certain point. obviously dont pick techies mid every game to "improve" but you can climb in 2-4k with any traditional hero in its role if you learn it. yes picking a worse hero does make it harder for yourself, but meta shifts, and imo you should be in it to learn the game so that you can use ur game knowledge to learn the heroes. and also keep in mind that picking meta heroes is different than counter picking, i still think there is value in figuring out the meta and gaining mmr with it, but counter picking is often bait when people get too fixated on picking heroes because theyre "good" even if they dont fit the pace of ur team or the roles or you straight up dont know how to play the counter well. ive lost too many games to a teammate suggesting a "counterpick" to an ally who picks itand then has no idea what to do on that hero and just feeds. also keep in mind that a legend mmr players idea of a "counterpick" isnt even accurate a lot of the time, honestly all in all it just feels like focusing too hard on these things is wasted time. good to keep in mind but i dont think you should counterpick the enemies or pick the strongest meta hero every game all the time if it meansur just playng a different hero every game and not really learning. thats just my take. i think a solid pool or 2-3 maybe 5 maybe 1 heroes for a role is good for climbing, so you can be flexible without trying to play way too many heroes at once and not learning any of them properly.
If you can play your hero, you can win with it, you just have to figure out how are you winning with it - in case of lina (mid?) do you want to pressure enemy mid, do you want to farm, do you want to shove, take tower and pressure other lanes? I trully dont have any idea, I had one good game on lina when I took mid tower, shove lane, take some camps, shove mid again etc - lina farms really fast early, but what do you want to buy?
But yea, you can keep winning with any hero, if you know it completely and you know what you are doing. I was playing medusa when she was 42% winrate and still kept 60%+ winrate. Similar with WR mid.
those heroes is win lane lose game for most people unless you really good at the hero and way better than the oppo i tink
prolly watch more replays on the hero or just use easier hero
