not sure how it works exactly, but if i were to guess, it takes your highest, and averages it like it does for party
what are you talking about...
you mean unranked party vs solo unranked?
like how party mmr takes the average of your party mmr + solo mmr,
i think unranked mmr takes the average of your solo ranked mmr + unranked mmr
so they're not independent anymore
no, they're still independant, how would you even prove this?
your unranked matches followed a simple bracket increase pattern of win/loss
^ because it no longer follows a simple win/loss pattern anymore.
my unranked should've been stuck in normal skill since i havent touched it since calibration. but its not
It's not independant anymore. I can 100% comfirm this because I was 2k like 2 years ago (Normal Skill) and played some unranked games for fun and they are always VHS unless a 1k and 2k low 3k happen to sneak in.
So I was 2k 2 years ago, and barely started touching unranked again, that is a 2 year gap where if unranked mmr was seperate, my unranked games would be 2k still. They are not. Again, they only are if one or two 1k - low 3k sneak in to throw off the average.
Match making is inflated af right now too with int ranked and normal ranked being seperated.
But to get back on subject, yes unranked mmr is NOT independant anymore is based off your ranked mmr.
you've ben clearly touching this since calibration https://www.dotabuff.com/players/278542944/matches?lobby_type=normal_matchmaking
a lot of those are party and low priority though.
solo unranked i didnt play much. was definitely 1-2k unranked. jumped to high skill as soon as i hit high skill ranked. stopped. jumped to vhs unranked as soon as i hit vhs ranked.
prety much confirmed.
otherwise it shouldve taken a shit ton of games to get hs vhs if it follows win-loss +- 25
