Potato, that isnt a problem its his boosted party mmr, his solo isnt even near his party mmr, so that aint a problem. Ancient 5 is max you can get by playing party ranked
My friend is rank ~1500 EU and he plays with players within top 10 ranks every day. Especially because so many players non-EU pros are in europe right now because of epicenter.
If you play with a high player rank you will probably get rekt but you can make most of that experience. You don't get better playing with scrubs. I find the best game I played are the close ones. Even if is twisting satisfying to curb stomp your opponent, is much more edificating when you win a close game or forge a victory from the ashes of a almost sure defeat. My most memorable game so far was one where I played timbersaw and one of the other guys played OD. We were owned hard until he farmed enough to be a treath and despite we had only one rax left, after a team engagement we were able to push the mid lane all the way to the ancient while another teammate was defending the base.
It was epic.
