Dont play nyx as a semi carry, play it as a support. Blink is much better than dagon on nyx IMO, sure it gives u burst, but thats about it. I always end up with only arcanes,urn, blink and maybe a hex after each game. Nyx doesnt need farm to be effective, period.
Go mid > spam mana burn until enemy has no mana > free farm > get to level 6 > gank
Killing is farming.

^says the "pro" guy with 6 games. If opponents don't buy sentries, you don't need dagger because you can initiate with vendetta.

You don't farm with nyx. Check the games on first few pages and see how many last hits the nyx player has at the end of the game.
You don't farm Nyx in the same way you do any other hero. Nyx is quite good in the laning phase as well as early ganking, almost as quickly as a mid is depending on which lane you take and where you go.
I have found that playing Nyx with utility items is probably the better way to go but if you are racking up kills there is no need for that to stop and you should maximize on that with ethereal, dagon etc. Other effective items are blink dagger, drums, Necro.
I have found that laning with a CM can prove quite profitable with her maxing Frostbite and you maxing stun and you simply cast and cast till they are dead. Ex. http://dotabuff.com/matches/347700550 I don't play Nyx very well or very much as I think the hero is an asshole but the hero isn't hard at all and if I can play him he should be hard for others too.

Generally, I pick Nyx Assassin when the enemy team rely on squishy casters or delicate heroes (such as void). But... I can NEVER seem to get any farm in my games as Nyx!! Whether in early game (in an off-lane), middle game or late game. I always take chances to gank squishies or scout for the team. I still keep up in gold most times from assassinating heroes but it just doesn't seem like enough. Anybody have any tips on how to improve?
Also, what other items can I build on Nyx after Dagon? I usually grab Blademail if it's appropriate but what else is great on the hero? Thanks dbuffers :)
