Hello is this computer http://www.computerlounge.co.nz/systems/systemdetail.asp?sysid=201&systypeid=4 worth the cost?

I am planning on buying it, not sure how much better I could do if I built one myself. Keep in mind that I live in NZ and thus I cannot order many parts from overseas.
Also how well would you expect it to play Dota 2?

    Scorpius

F*** no! For that price it should have a GTX780 in there.

      TikTok Uncle

Lol noob , build your own.

        murs

          not even close...

          murs

id guesstimate the cost of all that put together to be around 900

            Licht der Vorteile (3.1)

i'm not sure if that is in nz currency or what but if it is in usd, expensive. imho, build your own. much much much cheaper and full of satisfaction :)

              rambosalad

                that is way overpriced ..

                Player 103543943

The GTX 780 nz cost 850$, is it even possible to get that in there for 1500$ without performance compromises from the ram and cpu? This setup also includes SSD and a decent Cpu Win8 etc.

                  Phenomenal

So overrated for what you pay for. I wouldnt buy this ever.

                    Player 103543943

Fuck my life, I got 1447 if I bought all the parts serperate and installed them myself. So saving 50 bucks, It seems NZ is really a rip off when it comes to computer parts...

                      MADARASINDAHOUSE

Not worth... with 900 euros u can make i5 build a lot better than this shit or six core AMD with 16gb ram :)

Even Alienware Aurora is a lot better than this

                          Player 103543943

^^ Alienware Aurora starts at 3.5k lol of course it will be a lot better. Does anyone use videocardbenchmarking.net for checking out performance for price etc. Because it says these parts are quite decent for the price... OR am I wrong? I assume that when you build a computer all parts should be bought new.

                            Aerium

                              they are looting you.
                              since you cant import...:(

I think the problem is that NZ is a ripoff...

                                Aerium

                                  but that shit!

                                  epsik-kun

It did cost me about same amount of money to build a PC of similar performance. I did it 3 years ago though.

I would recommend you to go with high Intel i5 CPU and AMD graphics card. Both are more cost efficient than their counterparts.

You could read few articles about choosing parts of your PC on Tom's Hardware page

op, i assume you are in US

you can build a decent pc with $350-$500 USD that runs dota2 ultra smooth.
                                      for example, go to http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_tlc.asp?CatId=31
and pick a $300-$400 bundle. they don't usually include a decent graphics card or card at all.
go to newegg, tigerdirect, microcenter, and buy a $80-$100 good cards like 7770 or 650Ti and you will be great.

i bought mine back in 2011 with 550Ti graphics for $400 and it still runs dota2 1080p max setting 60fps.

He's not in the us... he's in new zealand. If it's anything like austrailia they have very strict import laws regarding consumer electronics and media. Steam users in aus pay like double for games as the us. And it's the same game digitally distributed. He likely can't get a better price.

Im Not talking for the 3.5k aurora OBVIOUSLY :)

                                          Gustaphos

                                            Please do not buy that.

Do what Whoji said and build your crap on your own. You can save a ton of cash doing it.

Built my own rig off of tigerdirect.com 4 years ago to play battlefield 3 (oh yeah bad choice since 40% of the pc population has aimbot/maphacks what a waste!)

If you're just playing dota 2 for gods sake just get a middle of the road intel I7 processor or even I5.

Max out the ram since ram is dirt cheap for the MOBO you pick (preferred ASUS/GIGABYTE/EVGA boards but are mid/high quality)

For the love of god do not get windows 8 biggest resource hog ever. If you're building a gaming rig just go with WIN 7 and isn't a gimp version of a crap 'n' toss (macintosh) computer.

Get a GTX 780 for $150 bucks, or get 2. Best bang for your buck on video cards right now.

Get a case thats big with lots of airflow. If you're doing liquid cooling I can suggest cases/cooling gear if you hit me up on steam, for decent price.

You shouldn't have to spend $1500 to run dota 2 sorry. I have a 4 year old pc i built with liquid cooling and spent under $900

                                            Specs:

                                            Win 7
                                            16GB DDR3 RAM
                                            2x 250GB SSD drives (In RAID 0+1)
1x 2TB drive (for dumping crap on music, movies, non-video game programs etc)
3x GTX 285 EVGA (Traded out 2 years ago for 2x GTX 580s 2GB RAM big overkill for dota 2....)
EVGA mobo (cant remember the make/model right now I'm at work so it's not in front of me)
Cooler master full tower case with liquid cooling tubing/reservoir and copper plating for covering chip sets on.

This all cost me $900 4 almost 5 years ago. If you're in new zealand then IDK what your price/shipping comes out to sorry. If it were me I would not spend $1500 on low specs like that pre-made. I must be in the wrong damn business if I can resell a PC for that price shit what am I doing?

                                            Gustaphos

P.S. I max out my FPS @ 180 on everything on high graphics.... no overclocking. Max Res 1920x something I forget. I'm not at home like I said. its a 25" monitor though running DVI with 1080P.

Oh and power supply was a 1.5K watt power supply. You need a beefy power supply if you are doing more than 2x graphics cards.

NEWAYS.... I think you would be fine running the game on a solid state drive, an I5 processor, a middle of the road 780 GTX for $150, and 8 GB ram minimal you could probably cut your costs in half these days.

                                              Dire Wolf

Lol Caveman that is some serious bull, 4 years ago 250gb ssd's were over $200 each, go on newegg right now and they're still ~$180. I built a pc in fall 2010, 4gb of ram was $80, 16gb on 2 8gb was probably north of 200, you've listed north of $1200 in components and not even a cpu. That's probably a $1500 rig 4 years ago.

                                                Player 103543943

                                                  So, to sum it up.
                                                  New Zealand is a ripoff
I should build my own pc ( which would cost about 50 dollars cheaper).
Would this computer be able to play games like Bf4 max settings?
                                                  Also Fuck My life...

                                                  Nope

I just did a quick conversion and it comes to £750. For that price that is a decent prebuilt computer, if you don't want to custom build one then I recommend just buying that tbh. It won't max BF4 but it will hit medium I think. I also recommend you pick a 1TB HDD to store stuff on as well.
