I need a new Headset. Audio + Mic. Around the 80 ish USD range. Any suggestions?

    Nope

Creative sound blasters? They're around £50 here in the UK which converts to roughly $80. Nice headset + mic which play music nicely.

I have a sennheiser 360 set and in my opinion it just becomes an annoying thing to use. I hate headset and would avoid them at all costs.

Get cloth ear pieces as leather will make your ears sweat to no end.
Cables can get annoying especially when running near/over your mouse or keyboard. Consider going wireless.

Can only recommend sennheiser and harman kardon as those are the only two brands I have used.

I did when I was 18 buy a HS800 Fatal1ty and it did actually work well and stay alive despite feeling super cheap and badly made.

                So worth a look.

enjoying these, but they aren't good for the "around the neck" style.

I have a corsair vengeance older model. Had it for over 3 years, it's sweet. I think the newer ones don't get as good of reviews.

Lightweight, crisp sound. 3 year warranty surround sounds great. Put it this way, you can blast these bad boys to 11 (better than 10) and my wife can hear it upstairs while i'm in the basement.

10 years later... huh what did you say? Sounds more legit now since I blew out my eardrums.

All of these are good suggestions. Quality in audio sadly comes at a price and if the price is fixed than so is the quality you are going to get.

Something that is comfortable and will last is all you can hope to grab up in the interim.

                            I'm using Plantronics GameCom 780:

Ok, they look cheap. They are not made from uber-good plastic or anything. But.

                            1. They are sturdy - had them in my backpack without a proper boxing and/or headphones compartment while flying Birmingham -> Istanbul -> Kiev -> Astana -> Semey. They were pretty much jammed underneath the piles of ppl's stuff on the plane in the overhead compartment. Not a scratch. All the things that should be moving are moving. All the things that shouldn't - don't.

                            2. They give a decent sound quality. A friend of mine had the "Beats" (not sure why am I friends with this person in the first place XD). I would say that the sound quality is comparable. I am really no "audio-junkie" and I can't tell the difference between good and bad audio from headphones, even with 7 years of violin musical education. But I find listening to things like Queen/Guns&Roses/RHCP and Girls Generation quite enjoyable))

                            3. The mic is excellent, at least for gaming. There wasn't a single complain from people regarding extra noises or anything. And the sound is crisp.

                            4. 7.1 (or 5.1 w/e) - More of a gimmick, tbh, bu still an occasionally enjoyable one.

                            5. 80$ - exactly the price you've asked about)

Cons - only one complaint - if left on the head for more than 4-5 hours, they start to feel heavy/uncomfortable. The ear cushions could be just a little bit softer.

I'm using a par of Bose at the moment, but the Logitech g930 are also nice.
Cant recommend any cheap model though
