Actually, I don't feel like all the BTS casters fit in there. LD is useless (well most of them I guess, but LD is embodiment of that). I like it when Winter gives the cast though. He gives his humble opinions and things that can actually be helpful.

That happens cus 70-80% casters are not that good dota players. I like TobiWan alot the way he cast but still after many years he is making so many mistakes about mechanics and game sense.For example one time he said when game was like 40-20 for someone Dire was pushing and they were like 3x stronger gg push was and Tobi said for dire will not be easy to push cus radiant have Enchentres with his `army` . Lumi or Merlini laughed so hard on that and explained him that ench army dont do a shit at 40 min game and cases like this happens alot times.Its same for LD and few more most famous caster ofc AYYESE also but otherwise they are doing very good job.

This is a huge issue with esports casting. If you watch mainstream sports the casters don't try to do that. Actually they keep it pretty basic for the most part. I feel like there is this conflict between the demand for Dota casters to be "experts" and that making them feel like they have to "tell the pros/listeners how to play". It just ends up making them look stupid. Plus good casters don't spend all day predicting and judging.

I wonder if long-term, as esports becomes more "mainstream" the casting will get less and less "expert" oriented, and become more "good broadcasting" oriented. But... the community loves to feel like the game is a complicated puzzle that only the elite should be able to unlock. Perhaps it's a path better suited to the simpler games?

I like hearing lysander cast, as long as its not an important game with tier 1 teams involved :D

I find the more 'trolly' casters to be much more entertaining.

Best combination is Darksyl/Lumi. I think lysander is the only reason its possible to watch some of the ricing asians do in their 90 min games

Most of the casters lack professionalism. Probably because casting isnt a full time job for them and there isnt really any sort of "gold standard" to benchmark. I still prefer BTS> JoinDota though overall , since i get better stream quality, dont really give two hoots about the casting but would really like to see some of the casters stop trying so hard. If you got nothing better to say, its better to say nothing than spew bullshit.
