First of all, you should hardly ever play hard carries like spectre in pubs. Especially at "trench tier". 80% of the time there will be like 3-5 carries on your team and you will get your ass whooped (explaining your 43% winrate). Secondly, 500gpm on a 21 kill spectre is not much. You should watch some videos on how to farm effectively as carry

I don't think going both Vanguard and Drums is good. Pick one of them instead.
Vanguard will prevent you from dying and you can farm safely. If you cannot farm your lane you can farm the jungle because of the passive regen it gives. If you build Vangaurd you can also contribute to your team when they need you without high risks of dying cause of the epic tankiness you get from Vanguard. Drums will allow you to chase better, but if you build this item you can't really jungle cause you will have beyond no regen. If you tank creeps or neutrals you'll not regen up anytime soon aka you're taking a big risk of getting killed.
AKA, Vanguard>Drums in most cases. What pros does atm is Phase>Vangaurd>Radiance.
Spectre actually has pretty decent chance to snowball compared to other heroes. I would rather have a spectre who randomed over a Io or shadow Shaman who randomed on my team if I were at 2-3k even if team already has 2-3 carries.

Why do people max Dispersion first and still choose to get mega late Radiances. I want to hear the reasoning behind maxing Desolate last and Dispersion first.
not being able to survive a heavy magic burst team without HP + resistance + dispersion
especially when the opposite team has a lion that's 2 lvls higher than u with a 14 min dagon as a support role (>^-^)>

And yeah, I could always farm better.
3rd. "AKA, Vanguard>Drums in most cases" I was not gonna farm a radiance this game. My farming ability (refer 2nd above ^) makes that pretty hard. However I was spamming Q thanks to decent positioning mistakes by opponents so I went drums for the early int really. Might not have been the best choice. That + Diffusal solved my int problems until I had no int problems ever again.
4th. Yeah - they fed me like loads. I pretty much just stopped farming creeps at some point and went around killing. Still need to work on my mid to late game farming though.

Hoping this will perhaps be slightly educational.
I am in - what's referred to - trench tier. I love playing spectre but I never get to play her since carrying as Spectre in pubs is nigh impossible without a babysitter (well, for me actually). However, at the very least I understand the importance of varying builds based on the game at hand. And yeah, it's darned possible to own.
Lane was tough (I was on the offlane, yeah, as Spectre, with a BH. Kunkka went safe.) Disruptor warded for most of the game but our lane was woefully un-warded - I wanted to shell out the cash for wards, but the opposing laners weren't really taking advantage of our lack of vision successfully so I waited.
I went Vangaurd -> Phase -> Drums and raked in lane kills with Q somehow. After that Diffusal -> Yasha -> Butterfly -> Manta -> Radiance. I didn't even need the radiance as I got it while hitting their ancient.
What I was quite astonished to find out, however, is how strong diffusal clones are. At one point, I ulti'd just for vision of a fight, with the plan to jump in if necessary and somehow got a triple kill without having to reality. This was just a diffusal 1.
I kind of get how strong radiance burn is on Spectre clones, but it seems quite unrealistic to get early enough without dying in pubs. But diffusal is quick and cheap and quite deadly. And Always remember to use the active. Pretty awesome to use on SK after his reincarnation slow hits everyone.
As for the reality decision, it's usually a matter of picking the clone that's gonna get a kill definitely. Usually a hero that's low and escaping - because aside from the fact that you are probably faster than they are (and Q can make that definitely faster, just make sure you have mana for it), the extra damage from your passive (Desolate?) is pretty sweet. Add diffusal to the mix and its nomnomnom.
