On Topic: Theoretically yes it could work very well as he can melt towers like no other, but I feel like Leshrac is best fit with his team, not ratting. His mob damage is insane, and he has a nice stun. If you don't win your teamfights with him present, then the odds of you winning otherwise is rather slim.
Rather than trying to hide yourself, get BKB and aghanim and make yourself beefy

Hard to actually win when your carry is some american child without the grace to accept bad play. http://dotabuff.com/matches/739651689 Leshrac is one of those odd heroes that actually gets better as the game goes on where you can deal immense amounts of damage over a duration of time so he needs to be built quite durable.
It's a bit like a DP you don't really rat with them (though it's possible) and it's better to just group up and have 4 keep heroes back off the tower while leshrac chisels it down.
I think Leshrac is better for push, and not rat, as he doesnt have that much mobility like Furion or Lycan. But he is a perfect hero for the "Now, lets push" moments.
Yeah, if you win teamfight with leshrac on your team, you can possibly take two towers instead of one, or take a tower you wouldn't otherwise have taken. Then again, a lot of the times I've played Lesh I've actually had to serve as the main damage dealer in those teamfights and become the main focus for the enemy team, so that's no fun.
