well when you play a lot with one hero you start realizing what works and what doesnt! for example necros on sf and even mek and drums work depending on the game. same with drow fast orchid drow resulting in a storm initiation with mass dmg and splipushing ability

once i drafted a core alchemist laning in a trilane! ofc won trilane and ask him to first item vg... he just tanked while we took towers down (me as krobe mid and some annoying shit offlane) gg in 15 min tournament game)

Drow with blink orchid is pretty much the same as Nature blink dagger, despite you have more damage. With the lack of global pressence though.

Both goals is to splitpush and find pickoffs. Avoid teamfights.

But still, you can use the silence Drow already has to pretty much the same effect.

The cast animation on drowsilence is awful. Just this makes you get of 2-3 less hits. If not more.

Also pushing heroes back can be a disadvantage.

Also, drow will have mana issues if you use frost arrows a lot.

Also, Orchid gives you 30% boost in damage

Well to be honest yesterday i saw a player from page 1 on the watch list who has drow as his most played hero

His team was far behind in net worth and exp, the 2nd position invoker got midas at 19 minutes and was flamed the whole game by his team and had 0.3 KDA because the other team had doom who rushed blink and constantly ganked the invoker

Drow's net worth were 4rd and invoker 5th at 40 minutes, The opponent 1-3rd position got the highest net worth in that game
There was a farmed tidehunter in drow's team who manged to get blink refresher at <50 minutes

The drow team still managed to defend their base until 65 minutes and finally Drow's team won the game with constant buyback from both team (exciting game)

His item was only Phase, Blink, MoM, Vyse and Manta Style because he had to buyback so the item didn't progress much.

From the teamfight all i can say is even without BKB, Drow is deadly if used by the right person
Even without an amazing KDA, Drow managed to get like 11/10/25 or something and Invoker made a comeback with almost the same KDA as drow but the point is they made a comeback from a very hard game.

Unfortunately though i don't remember the match id.

Frost arrows should ensure that the enemy can't run from them while silenced unless they have a force staff, BKB, or other item escape in which case Orchid wouldn't help anyways so I'm not entirely sure what you mean by getting less hits in (especially since Gust's silence is 1 second longer at level 4). The knockback duration is a little over half a second on level 1 Gust so they shouldn't be able to run away from you. I'm pretty sure that Gust will never knock enemies out of Drow's attack range so you should always be able to immediately follow up with an autoattack.

Pushing heroes back is more often than not a pretty good thing since them being close to her disables her ult. Obviously there are cases where that's not optimal, but I don't think that and an improved cast animation is much of a reason to buy Orchid on Drow. Like I said above Gust shouldn't push enemies out of attack range so the knockback shouldn't be much of an issue.

In my experience an Aquila is enough to keep you from having too many mana issues. Usually you have an Arcane Boot or two on the team to help you out too.

Orchid also leaves Drow super squishy compared to getting something like a BKB.

Like I could see it being useful in very specific instances against heroes with quick cast time escapes that can easily react to your silence like Weaver, Clinkz, Puck, Storm, but otherwise I think Blink > Gust is just fine for Drow.

So you lose mid with Drow against a Phoenix.
Who would have seen that coming?

I suggest next time you max your silence first so that you don't get instagibbed on level 6.

I think you mistake cancer-lineup with Auto-win-lineup. And my team mates played horrible in the beginning. I got 10 kills within 12 minutes, and our overall score was like 12-10.
