it's not excellent item, but it's built on clinkz cause he needs too much mana, while giving some damage, countrary to hex
It's not bad but there are better items. It gives no survivability, most heroes don't need that much mana regen and INT is almost totally wasted as well. Only good thing about it is the damage/AS and the silence but that's what your supports are for.
I was thinking of the Orchid as an alternative to battlefury (especially on Magina). Just go with Phase + Vanguard + Orchid. Easy to build, got some surviability, HP/Mana regen and a silence and extra damage (coupled with some mana break and a mana void can boost up your damage a lot). And all those items are cheap to build.
Well IMO orchid on PA is kinda wasted. You get the attack speed from blink, the regen can be solved with a CM or some arcane boots(made by your support), and she isn't even that mana intensive. The silence is good for ganks but then again a bkb, or a basher is a better pickup, for a cheaper price.
It's just not worth it unless you need the silence to lock someone down or need mana regen. It's good on clinkz and slark for both those reasons. Only reason to ever get it on AM or PA would be if they have some sort of blinker you want to silence like storm or qop. I could maybe see it on medusa for more int and regen = more mana shield. But drow? Has a silence already, needs stats, sniper has range and mini stun, needs stats. Weaver? Maybe. It might be kind of good on him, sukuchi dive someone, silence them, kill them, but it's going to leave weaver super vulnerable with no hp and without that linkin's block.
Compare it to s&y which is 25g cheaper, s&y gives you 2 more IAS, 2 more dmg, 300 hp, move speed, a killer proc, a couple armor. It's way better for an agi carry.
Brood mother, venomancer in theory... sniper, slark

Usually there are better items, but it can be built as a situational item on:
- Slark
- Clinkz
- Broodmother
- Bloodseeker
- Bounty Hunter
- Night Stalker (yeah yeah hes strength blah blah)
I don't see how it benefits spectre one bit. Does nothing for her illusions, adds no hp for dispersion. S&y is many times more useful.

Anyone ever tried on several occasions getting orchid on Magina or Morted as an early/mid item and tell us how that works? From my point of view Orchid is a very easy to build and highly efficient item tho a lot of people just don't buy it on other heroes except INT ones or Clinkz.
