I often run him as safelane but I am being very active with him. Get a tp scroll a bottle and phase (and drums afterwards) and go wherever there's trouble after I hit level six. Also he has strong killing potential in lane if your support knows what they are doing.
yea same for me, i dont afk farm with this guy at all, but at safelane im able to get my items faster and after i get phase + drums i seek for them killz
yea ember seems to suck in the mid lane after the nerf to his fist chains combo (it can still work but nowhere near as good as before). Seems like you gain alot more putting him safe lane and farming the first phase bottle drums early and then roaming.
Still working mid for me, is true that if you are against a ranged hero you are going to get harrassed a lot but his killing potential at 6-7 is so high ....
Heroes like SF, Invoker, Tinker, they ( usually ) die when i get to my lvl 6-7, plus getting runes is not that hard with him cause you can push the lane with shield.
Anyway i am maxing shield and chains, with no points in W until those 2 other skills are maxed.
I dont know man i still feel like he is ok at mid, i would never play him as a safelane carry cause i am pretty sure i would end against something like lich centaur or dark seer.
I love midding ember, but some heroes make it muuuuuch harder. For example, qop owns me mid when I ember unless the qop sucks. I'll take ember versus a pudge any day.
Once I hit 6/7 farming gets super easy bc you can jump all over the map to gank and farm the lanes/jungle
last time ive seen a match with ember in pro scene was IG vs EG (maybe?) and they ran ember in an aggro tri lane
its funny because sometimes I ping ember in the safe lane and ppl start "lol ember in safe lane gg im afk base" but it usually end up in a win
the hero is beastly mid and late game, even his early game is good despite his poor laning, by lvl 7 with flame guard and bolas you can burst like 800 dmg in 6 or 7 secs not only to one but atleast 2 guys, and late game his SoF is just too good with stacked bfuries + daedalus
oleksandr i dont think im 2.6k anymore, ive been playing on 4k accounts for almost two months and ive been able to climb like 100mmr from there, this account i only use to post here or to play when im bored/high/drunk, but im like 80% or something like that this month on this account, i reached 3k on this acc i think
ember's really good at mid because he snowballs really fast with the extra exp and his flameguard is really good combined with chains for solo kill potential. Not to mention ur remnants can be used for bursts or just for mobility
only time I think ember would be better off in the safelane would be if u face a viper or a skywrath

so heres the thing, I think it happens to everyone, but Ember when put mid ends up with low pace farming, like 3-4 cs/minute (in the first 15 minutes for example). i find him weak at laning stage, perhaps im playing the guy completely wrong but I find it easy to kill someone with flame guard + bolas than to farm at a decent pace
is he legit at safelane? I tend to go mid when i pick him, unless im stacking with a friend that i know will support me, in that case I go safelane and it works fine cause you have more farm
so the question is why he is often picked mid if he has a weak laning stage (if that is true or only my observation) and is squishy, has no real escape mechanism, so ganked = dead
