What is UGC?

United Gaming Clans (UGC) is a league that was founded in 2002. The league primarily started to regulate competitive tournaments in Valve’s Team Fortress Classic and Counter-Strike. Over the years, UGC league developed a strong community within Valve's second edition to TFC, Team Fortress 2. The league then developed a solid history of free competitive game-play for Team Fortress 2 and is currently well-known to Team Fortress 2 players. We have accumulated over 10,000 regular players to the league.

Our goal as a league is to expand and provide competitions to not only Team Fortress but also to other well-known competitive games. This 2014 year, we are privileged to announce that we will be having our own free to play Dota 2 Amateur league. We started a test season in the summer to see how the games will go and we have already seen talented players and teams fight and achieve first place.

This fall, our real season begins and we already have over 200 teams signed up to play.

    Who is able to join?

Everyone of all skill level is able to join this season of our league. We support North and South America, Africa, Asia, Europe, and AUS/NZ.

Each region will have different divisions. Your team will be placed by your team's average MMR. There will be:

We already have over 200 teams signed up this season, our sign-ups close on September 23rd.

Is there any payment to join?

No, creating a team and playing in our league is absolutely free.

    When does the tournament start?

We have a pre-season match* on September 21st. To play in the pre-season match you must have a team ready no later than September 16th. That’s next week!

Our first official match will be on September 28th.

    * pre-season match is not counted towards W/L ratio for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. It is only a practice match for teams to get used to how our tournament is set up.

How is the tournament set up?

Our tournament matches are completely flexible to fit your team’s schedule. On our website is match communications (Match Comms for short), where you are able to communicate with another team leader to setup a match time for our tournament.

Our default match times are as follows:

Africa –* 7:00pm South Africa Standard Time(GMT + 2:00)
Asia – *7:00pm China Standard Time(GMT + 8:00)
Australia/New Zealand –* 7:00pm Australian Eastern Summer Time(GMT + 10:00)
Europe –* 19:00pm Central European Time(GMT + 2:00)
Middle East –* 7:00pm Gulf Standard Time(GMT + 4:00)
North America –* 7:00pm Eastern Daylight Time(GMT - 4:00); 4:00pm Pacific Daylight Time(GMT - 7:00)
South America –* 9:00pm Brasilia Time(GMT - 3:00)
Once again, you do not have to play at these times. You are able to play at whatever time your team and the team you are playing against would like.

During the tournament, your team will also be available to be casted live on our Twitch channels. UGC league has an excellent casting team that will be casting every division.

    Wicket!

The league has a 2k base prize pool and is now INTERNATIONAL.
We also place teams based on their average MMR so you only get matched against teams of a similar skill level!

It is the perfect way to start out in competitive DOTA and we are super relaxed on teams playing matches.
We have a default day/time set up for Sundays @ 7pm Eastern time, but any matchup can change their match time as long as both teams agree to another slot.

Oh, and did I mention that you have the potential to be LIVE CASTED?!

      Grigor

Our ticket got accepted in game by Valve: http://www.dota2.com/store/itemdetails/16031

That means casted games will appear in game, in addition any players will get the ticket free.
