Tbh having more MMR hurts me more than having less MMR.
I often playing with my IRL friends who has around 2k MMR.
I got excluded from party invite sometimes because of that. 
I rather play with them than having more MMR 
Play normal games from time to time, wont hurt to get more experience and you don't care that much about a win if its not ranked.
You maintain your ranking or even go up with it by playing roles and heros you actually can play.
In your case offlane should be a good spot, most of your top heros are good offlane heros with a big gameimpact if you don't fail yourself.
And the most important part if you loose blame yourself and watch a replay from time to time, its shocking how many mistakes everyone is doing without realising it during the match.
it's far below avg for dotabuff but dont worry you're not the only noobshit around here..typical avg that kinda guy

and my winrate is improving is this good or average?
Also any tips for helping me to maintain my rating would help a lot as I feel when I play high skill games I lack the experience of the people I play with and against.
