Its not about doing well with her.
Its about why pick her over TA when they fulfil the same playstyle and role; snowballer, semi-carry, slow, assassin.
because its easier to farm with her has a way better slow than ta and takes less skill to play
ta is a better mid but that doesnt make her a better hero
and its also a better fighter. ta can be kited really easy while pa is harder to kite because of 2 downtime slow and free blink

However I have to disagree; I think she is quite strong.
The only thing TA and PA share is the name Assassin. They are two extremely different heroes. PA has stronger, but unreliable burst damage, and is survivable against autoattacks but weak against nukes,, and can quickly jump people with her blink, while TA is much more reliable in her damage output, is far more survivable against burst damage but is prey to DOTs, and offers some very significant rune control thanks to her traps. She doesn't have an innate blink like PA does, but blink dagger is a fairly common pick up on TA.
to be honest, i always thought pa was really similar to ta as well ... good to see it being validated :p
She will be even easier to play soon: in 6.82 both Doom & Chrono no longer disable passives, so her Blur will work always..
PA is the best hero to use against a team that utilises squishy nice targets like CM, SD etc.
She honestly makes them disappear off the planet with a good crit. Her ganking range is a LOT longer, she has much more mobility. You can also build her items in many different ways - She's my guilty pleasure hero, that I somehow manage to lose every game on. But regardless, she fills a gank/stick/focus role since her kit makes her amazing at gluing to squishies.
Nah she is really strong. She is only weak during the early laning stage but once farmed she can wreck other heroes. I've wrecked farmed spectres with her. She is also pretty damn mobile.
Well...during the laning stage she contributes what might as well be a 200 damage nuke for 1 skill point (her blink strike) and a very strong slow.
So...I wouldn't say weak in laning stage. Solo against more than one is rough, but that rarely happens.
The thing is, PA is incredibly mobile. She has a slow and a great blink, both of which are on very low cooldowns and contribute heavily to damage output. Whereas TA isn't mobile unless you build a Blink Dagger on her, but then she hits like a kitten and the hero is sort of pointless.
However, TA allows for earlier Rosh and is easier to snowball with. As with any other hero, they're both situational picks despite being hot assassin chicks.
you don't put a carry mid to win the lane, you go there to get decent farm and benefit from the solo xp.
you probably won't see RTZ killing the enemy 2-3 times mid as PA, he will just sit his butt in the lane and last hit with dagger, thats very safe if you ask me
having blur maxed really early in the game is what makes the hero good, because you have a ridiculous amount of evasion with no ways to be dealt with, because by 12 mins no one will have a bkb.
@sleave you can actually get kills on enemy mid so fucking easy at lvl 7 as long as its not something tanky like dk
You probably never seen a farmed pa.
with equal farm 50min farmed pa > 50 min farmed ta. Whether it will be them 1v1 each other or a team fight. TA is only better early game, pa is a hard carry and has scaling abilities. You probably find TA is more devastating because she snow balled early game which made her a beast late game. Now that dota I think used pseudo-random chance her critis seems to alot more often.

that is not a farmed spectre? has a heart, radiance, mkb, diffusal, etc. Many people agree that spectre is one of the hardest carries, but pa can defintely wreck her. Bkb and alot of dps is the answer.
@Alucard: not it's not and you have 2 sheeps and an abyssal vs. zero control in their team so you probably kept winning TFs due to control and getting kills out of that.
If spec was 6 slotted most of your team would be half dead before you can even sheep the real one.

I just find her very... weak. I'm talking about mid.
An extremely large source of her damage comes from an extremely unreliable source. She doesn't really dominate the lane but she can get adequate farm. Overall I feel she's really meh...
Everytime I try her mid I find myself thinking, if I was a TA or a Morph, I could win this lane more, I could farm more and I would have reliable dps/burst. I'm actually comparing her a lot to TA in my mind because they both literally do the same thing.
Like TA is literally a better version of her.
1. Both have powerful early/mid aggression. Except TA does it better.
2. Both have a skill to 'dodge'. TA gives more reliability in guerrilla battles which BOTH of them should be doing.
3. Slows. Except TA can give you vision in 10 other spots while giving you an AoE slow.
4. Snowball potential. Both can snowball but honestly a snowballed TA is much more devastating than PA.
5. Both can instagib heroes, except TA can choose when to with Meld.
I find myself struggling to picture scenarios where a PA would do better in that situation than a PA. Maybe if you really want that dodge.
