If i play party, it will be either french or english depending on the people in party.

I thought that Quebec french (and by extension Ontario french) was quite different from actual French french.

As far as I know Canadian french is pretty similar to French french. It's like comparing US english with Australian english
Of course there are a few differences especially in terms of pronunciation. Some expressions are different as well but overall, a french canadian can easily understand someone who's from France. The other way around isn't the same tho. Half of my class come from either France or North Africa and they had a lot of trouble understanding us at first while we clearly understood everything they said apart of a few expressions
That's funny, sounds a bit like what happens between brazilian portuguese and european portuguese. The portuguese usually easily understand PT-BR, but brazilians have a hard time to understand the european portuguese because they have a really weird accent.
