No idea. Would guess:
1)Your normal and high skill bracket game hurt your ranking, regardless of the win.
2)You're a dirty slark picker.
Oh, fuck.. right, 2 out of 5 games were party games, not solo queues..
So, if play ranked party with some lower skilled players there's high chances of hurting my score.. didn't know.
Thanks for the info.
Yes, your party games will screw you up. I myself got +300 points (from Platinum 10 to Diamond 6) by just stopping to play with my friends. Guess I will only use my smurf to play with them.
Solo MMR is 4.2k, but I've been 5k, dropped to 3.4k, worked my way up to 4.5k again ;D - it's a roller coaster ride.
@YNIT Dota Exchange
It takes more than 2 to 3 games. For me it took around 50 games.
Sorry that this bit you, and extra sorry that it wasn't clear why! We don't want to discourage people from playing with lower skill friends. It's hard because we can never be 100% certain whether or not you were in a party.
We've been researching this and will be making measured improvements step-by-step over the coming weeks that we hope will help address this and many other issues.
Before the rankings I played pretty regularly with them. (that is about 3~8 games per day)
You could play non slark heroes with your friends. Not a solution to your problem, but it's something.
^ Well, here's the problem though: When I queue with friends then I am supposed to play exceptionally well. Of course I'd love to play heroes that I am not that experienced with, but unfortunately it diminishes our win rates together with our mood :/
Oh, I see the problem. I was just giving a possible way to play with your friends as well as keep your slark/od performances high. In a perfect world everything would be separated out, but with the already limited data dbuff has access to (this is an assumpsion), you can see why this is very hard.
Also, usually when someone is good enough to get a top 100, they usually can play more than one hero so this wouldn't be that much an issue xd
Takes quite long to get back apparently. In my case I gain 1 point by winning 1 game and I lost 55 just by playing (and winning) 2 ranked party games :DD
^ Yes, you just need to get that one level back, it gives you lots of points. Look, I have been on a 7 games loss streak and actually gained almost 40 or so points due to level up from D5 to D6 :) Now I just reached D7, gained another ~20 points
Yeah, I feel like I can do anything I want as Slark. Can't really find joy, fun or comfort playing other characters.
@frostychee
I just learned, the skill division actually applies to all heroes, so you can't just play a different hero :/
@YNIT Dota Exchange
I was playing OD and suddenly after playing one very low tier game with my friends using Phoenix I jumped a few Divisions up with Phoenix on Diamond 7 which is the same division that I just reached with OD.
weird, i guess Divisions they do then, i been looking at my Divisions and they seemed to stay still unease i play that hero, will be watching it more often now.
@Chains, it's quite easy: reject any social interaction outside your house and you can achieve the same standards as mine.
I don't get it. How can you play so much slark? how can you play so much of any hero with out trying 50 of them even once? Do you just hate playing with out tons of HP regain? there are other heroes that never need to go back to base.
you can be 3k player only you have to do is play ~million games on %heroname% if you want to be in top list
It's funny how people are making such a big deal out of pointless rankings. They don't even mean you are the best player on the hero.
@The Number 12, I don't have to try them all, I know what they all do, just don't find them appealing to my play style. Also, I believe Slark is the most horrible to play against because I know exactly what one would be capable of doing :D
WHy is guy with 4.2k mmr 13 th and me with 4.6k not in top 100 with slark got better kda/ better win rate as well and better mmr?
@NextStep, my first game was on 21st of December 2012 when my ex-gf introduced me to dota (she was having 1,500 in-game hours at that time :DD), so nearly 2 years. Then she dumped me a few months later because I wasn't giving her the "attention she deserves".

What's the deal with Player Rankings lately?
The Slark players ranking to be more specific: http://www.dotabuff.com/heroes/slark/players
At my 5,910th Slark game I was ranked 9th with a score of 6,245 (one point below 8th place),
http://s11.postimg.org/oa54l4yxf/10733893_729181737154654_4735276466302876031_o_1.jpg
then 5 games later (5,915th Slark game) which I have all won (solo queue, ranked) I drop to the 13th place with a score of 6,190...
You can clearly see that I've won the games on my profile http://www.dotabuff.com/players/53764543
so what gives?
