Pfff, you should have seen how often i was in low prio by owning with meepo.
U rek hard -> enemy butthurt cuz OP pick -> U get +1 report
It's retarded because some automated rules can be easily imposed. First of all, Communication Abuse (which, to begin with, is a completely stupid implementation) reports shouldn't be registered if you're already muted (though I think this one may be in effect), Intentional Feeding should be instantly discarded if the reported player has 0 deaths at the moment of submitting the report, and overall: the opponent team shouldn't be allowed to report you at all. If someone is not satisfied with your performance, it's your team which should decide, not some pissed off kids on the other side.
Dota2 devs clearly stated that reports from 1 single match make no difference.
I was only muted once, for mad shit talk over several games. I have never been to low priority because of reports.
If you constantly get reported then you're doing something wrong, then again EU is toxic as shit.
So basically what they're saying is that the reporting system is actually based on how much people get pissed at you rather than taking the time to implement a fair and logical reporting system. Good stuff.
I should remind myself to be as mediocre as possible to blend in and get ignored.
Pretty much.
It's similar to +25/-25 if your report threshold goes off limit you get punished with low priority/mute.
While the system is pretty retarded I can't think of anything better to account for 10,000,000+ Dota2 players.
holy shit how do you play 7000 slark games and not get bored? anyway i've played about as much as you and never been punished without deserving it. the other guy was right, one game worth of reports won't do anything, so you had been getting reported over multiple games. were you spamming well played or anything that would make your team 1. know you're muted 2. not like you? because if they were clever they would know not to report you for comm abuse (because you're right, if you're muted then those reports dont do anything) and would instead report you for the other ones.
I usually go for squishy supports and they get pissed because I kill them very often when they leave the base high ground, then during the game or at the end of it they blatantly say "Slark reported"/"Report Slark". That happens at least once every 3 games. It gets even better when you play against a party of 2, then they both report you.
You should be fine if you get reported once every three games.
If you don't talk mad shit during 2 other games you wont be punished.
It's been proven that team mate reports come down harsher than enemy reports.
@KiTraK`
to punish people that actually deserve it instead of registering illogical reports submitted by angry mobs?
you clearly don't understand the report system. multiple people reporting you in a single game does nothing. 9 people reporting you = 1 person reporting you. this was done to prevent exactly the kind of thing you think is happening (but isn't). you're just fooling yourself.
idk how you get muted in the first place, you should have seen things i say to my team/enemy lmao
@懒妇.Aƒƒιηιту
Team mates do report me sometimes because they think I should go and die after stacking 90 agility from essence shift.
You have my heart felt sympathy.
From what we've tested in the past- enemy reports account for ~0.33% while team reports account for ~0.66%.
100% = (team and enemy reported you) being the worst possible outcome for 1 game.
If you get reported 3 times in 3 different games and reach 100% for each game - you will get punished depending on what the system thinks you did. Your bad boy level will decrease for every game you have completed without any reports against you.
Keep team shit talk to a minimum and you'll be fine. ;)
Holy shit just read the message in your screenshot.
> you are among the most highly reported players in the DOTA community
Impressive
I played between 200 and 300 games in Low prio. Mainly for CM drafts. And then mainly for item choices.
KiTraK`
Tell your mommy or someone else that cares. My opinion have always been and will always be: dont abuse the report system.
Cooperate? No, I dont cooperate with trash. It is just not possible.
More then 50% of my reports have been given to me before the CM draft ends.
"But more objectively the report system exists to punish people who others do not enjoy playing with, not to hand down fair punishments. I might hate someone because they're fucking good at dota, so by your logic they should not be reported, but by the system that is reportable. This makes sense when you think about it, as the system seeks to improve the enjoyment of players games, and if i did not enjoy playing with you (and subsequently reported you), that means you are making games less enjoyable. Do it enough and you'll get LP"
These statements are as funny as idiotic. If the report system isn't meant to be fair, then why are there different report reasons? You don't need a reason when something isn't meant to be fair.
And since when is competition about enjoying people you're losing to? Are you out of your non-existing mind? People aren't playing dota to have a laugh, they're doing it because it is one of the most competitive strategy games. Communication bans or being able to report someone in the opponent team shouldn't even exist in ranked games.
It's true though, community gets to decide how to use report system and what is acceptable. That's just the way it works right now.
If you have a better idea how to create a report system that handles 10,000,000+ players you can submit it to dev.dota2 and if it's good devs will eventually implement it.
@懒妇.Aƒƒιηιту
It's all about common sense, stuff that should or shouldn't be there by default. It doesn't matter if a community is made up of 10 players or 10 million players, intentional feeding reports shouldn't work on players that have 0 to a few deaths (FOR THE OBVIOUS FACT THAT IT IS NOT INTENTIONAL FEEDING), the client already has an in-game mute feature- thus communication bans should not exist (in a game where communicating with the team is most essential) AND players should not be able to report opponents- only your team should decide to give you penalty for poor performance (whether it is intentional feeding or ability abuse).
I simply refuse to believe that people smart enough to develop such a complex game as dota don't have the ability to understand the aforementioned simple facts.
You're still not proposing a better solution.
Valve has to make money, if most players are unhappy then they stop playing & Valve loses money.
Mute system has to satisfy the majority of players no matter what, and that fact will never change.
Not saying current report system is amazing, it could be better. Same goes for +25/-25 MMR retardation.
Remember that you represent less than 1% (in terms of skill & whatever community decides as toxic behavior) of all Dota2 players, why would Valve go an extra mile to satisfy your needs if they can potentially harm other 99%?
Don't expect big changes to report system until dev.dota2 presents Valve with a better solution.
"you can submit it to dev.dota2 and if it's good devs will eventually implement it."
Let me see here. You claim that the same retarded developers that designed this matchmaking system and report system would considering making good improvements to the broken garbage that they have decided to let more then 10.000.000 people play with every month on and on?
I dont think so. No signs have been see of this what so ever. Garbage in to the office = Garbage out from the office.
What Valve mainly have done is this: making a copy of Dota1. Improve the graphics and remove bugs and add cosmetic items. The only significant change they actually have made in comparision to Dota1 is the matchmaking system and report system. Two systems that NO ONE thinks are good. Some my think it is good enough. But I dont know one person with IQ over 124 that actually think it is good.
Broken garbage. That is what it is. 90% of 10.000.000 players still like this garbage? Doesnt change anything. It is still broken garbage.
@懒妇.Aƒƒιηιту
The solution already exists, I'm proposing improvements. And what does happiness have to do with anything? I'm playing ranked, I play it for the competition, I'm not playing it to feel good about it (because my life sucks and reporting people in dota is the only thing bringing me joy). I am a customer too (spending money on game stuff), am I not entitled to be "happy" as well?
But if lack of fairness is what keeps the horde happy and Valve booming, then I guess it is what it is.
Money making broken garbage. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making.
Unless you are able to prove to Valve that their system is making them not win as much as they could, expect no changes.
Once more. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making. Money making.
I do programming 4-6 hours daily and pays well enough to afford playing Slark 12 hours a day.
[Lk].Zano
OK, let me take this step by step for you
Dota1 is a good game.
Dota2 is a copy of Dota1
--> Dota2 is a good game
A good game can still have broken parts.
Compare it that broken car.
The door might be missing but you can still enjoy driving it during certain circumstances.
"Unless you are able to prove to Valve that their system is making them not win as much as they could, expect no changes."
This would be like going to a family owned company and telling them that the company would be way more profitable if they did this and that... Most family owned companies will just continue doing what they always have done. You dont belive me? Go and read the research.
i dont care if ur rich or poor but playing 12 hours of slark a day for years isn't physically or mentally healthy
dota sucks anyway why do you play it so much
I am physically fit and mentally capable of performing complex tasks, so I beg to differ.
"This would be like going to a family owned company and telling them that the company would be way more profitable if they did this and that... Most family owned companies will just continue doing what they always have done. You dont belive me? Go and read the research."
And is Valve a family owned company?
There is no need to argue about report system/MMR on Dotabuff, it wont change anything even if you're right.
Your best bet is to adjust to current system and start posting suggestions on dev dota2. Developers do read it, they just don't interact with the community that much. If you can propose real changes that will make everyone happy I guarantee you that they will be implemented.
I have been muted 3 times and they were after tilt streaks where I was losing patience, I totally deserved them. In short people who moan about LPQ and muting have done something to deserve it, maybe not in that game but that one game wouldn't have mattered. If you're consistently getting 1-2 reports every 1-2 games then at some point even if you were sweet and commended everyone after the game you would still get muted/LPQ not for that game you were nice, but for all the other times you weren't previously.
Systems not perfect but I know 3 people who are frequently in LPQ or muted. Benao, Bogi, and Bishop.
I was already muted, I didn't enter low priority because of flaming or anything related to chat commands, I was reported by the opponent team for raping them (I can't really imagine any other reason as I haven't annoyed anyone in my team). So that's your reward for being good at the game, 5 all random games in low priority once every 2-3 days.
Oh, you read my like an open book, tell me more.
Apparently you have to be 5K or more to make valid complaints/statements.
The simple fact is, you've been reported so many times; you have like no reputation. So any report from a reliable person would get you low prio.
The way the report system works (i'm assuming) Is everyone has some sort of "Reputation" rating. And they also have some type of "Reliability" rating in respects to their report accuracy. Once you get below some threshold of rep, you get low prio.
Stop being an ass continuously; and maybe you won't get low prio. The reports system is working fine.
Yes, rape opponents, get reported because of opponent rage, go to low priority- the reports system is working fine.

Be me, be muted for 12 more hours, go offlane vs Troll and Rubick, finish the game with a score of 17-0-13, get 5 games of low priority.
My team had no reason whatsoever to report me, the opponent team shouldn't be able to report for Communication Abuse since I was already muted (and I wasn't even spamming chat commands), Intentional Feeding at 17-0.. ? And there's also Intentional Ability Abuse which seems completely fair to be registered as a valid report when it comes from the opponent team, isn't it?. Thanks again, Valve!
