Technically undying was never living.
TO be honest people just figured out that undying is actually very potent and tbh he is still very strong even after those nerfs
its icefrog...
constantly buffing perfectly fine niche heroes (aka meta force), ofc they become broken at some point, then the nerfhammer hits and kills the hero completly
still people praise him for his perfect dota knowledge

Undying is still very strong.
I think Undying still looks strong.
Apart from the early game mana cost increase, the mid-late game seems to be off no difference to that in 6.84
idk where this 60% overall winrate of undy comes from. must be normal skill. i have 60% winrate vs undy this week. 56% this month. (last game i lost vs him was basically because our nyx had lower impact than their undying and our storm played arrogant and ignorant - farming when we could have ended it. surprisingly after 60 min their am is 6 slotted and rapes us. tl;dr undying had nothing to do with this loss)
BTW why would a nerfed hero be dead? Since Dota is for fun then you play the heroes that are fun and not the heroes that are OP. Right?
The MMR system is basically designed to make people not have fun while playing
People focus on increaseing their MMR and if, in their opinion, someone in their team block them from doing this (playing bad etc) then they just get angry. Instead of having fun.
The report system is designed to be abused, and having one or more players in your team crying report every second game for the most insignificant misstake doesnt contribute to having fun either. Or crying report just because you buy Maelstrom instead of Battle Fury or Force staff on Bristle. Yeah, I got reported and sent to low prio for buying fore staff on Bristle Back and AM.
I believe Flesh Golem was never a huge factor of undying's recent success. Soul rip mana cost nerfed is kinda hurt for solo offlane undying tho.
However, it's still a slight buffed undying after 6.83, for me, at least.
^^ you are right. he is buffed compared to 6.83 and the teamfight mid-game deathball meta favors his skillset clearly.
i just think it is kind of ridiculous that icefrog nerfs undying pretty strongly after like a week 6.84 - like he didnt see it coming. plus he doesnt even give the community a chance to find work arounds and counters. troll/sniper/jugger werent hit that hard in 6.83 if i remember correct.

Actually he jad 64% in very high when he had 60% in normal. The thing is that he doesn't have clear counters since physical spells don't kill zombies.
dont agree on that undy does not have clear counters. there are many imo - almost any agi hero w mobility/speed skillset (ursa, pa, am, riki, troll, pl ...) and mana leechers (lion, silencer, am, kotl, invo, ...).
Undying needed a nerf but I agree dumb on Icefrog to yank a hero back and forth.
Before 6.84b undying was first second pick ban every pro game prior to patching.
