when i spammed troll (hero) last patch (no haterino), if we were losing, i would often dominate a troll to farm/push lanes. it was quite efficient gold-wise and also created space, which ancient stacking does not. it's not too difficult if you are just rotating through jungle.
what kitrak said, and also if u pay to much attention to ls with the creep you got with HotD, you will react too slow when enemies try to gank you in the jungle. Stacking ancients reqires less attention - 0.5 sec is enough to make a stack if you are using shift.

Which one is more farm efficient ? By farming creeps in lane I mean - I stay in the jungle & my dominated creep farms waves (preferably Troll).
