winrate shows your progression after the starting point, which was defined by how skilled you are. For example, if you were 1k mmr and played with 55% winrate afterwards, you are most likely still in low rating. On the other hand, someone who was 4k, would be still higher than you with 45% winrate.
Because hidden MMR jumps a lot for first few games that you play. If you aren't playing well/stomping, then valve won't place you with peoplle in a higher skill bracket
Thanks for the reply. Hmm interesting. Yeah, I played my first match in 2014, but I threw to play then. In 2015, I started to play Dota again with good coach. So... as you said, I got 1K mmr at first, because I'm still in low rating... right? So sad anyway
And then do I have to ranked match and increase open MMR? It doesn't mean to play unranked match to be High Skill?
u can get High Skill both in unranked and ranked, they are pretty similar, just that you cant see your unranked "hidden" mmr
plus unranked is a bit weird e.g. its not like +25 hidden mmr per win.. its like a lot less if ur stuck in a bracket for ages
Okay, thanks! I'm gonna try ranked match.... even if I got 2K mmr :P
Anyway, really thank you for reply this topic!

I know a man who is 52% win rate with Very High Skill. ..Or win rate isn't important for hidden MMR?
