Forget becoming pro. By the time u reach 7-8 k where u can get attention u will find yourself losing the most important game - your life.
When it comes to grinding mmr, picking phase is the most important IMO since all players have simmilar skill. Even more important in RD mode.
Try playing Sven my son. I have like 70% win rate in last 45 games. That hero is a free MMR if you know what you are doing.
Hard to do, was perhaps easier in the early stages of DotA but not now. There is a ton of amateur shit you can get into to feel like you're part of the scene but other than that literally zero recognition for years.
Miracle, W33, and a handful of others are literally the only players who have been from pub dota in the last couple of years. Teams tend to reshuffle players (much like football) rather than scout new talent.
If you're basically the "most watched" for about a year, play loads of amateur leagues, have 7-8K MMR, then possibly you have a change, if not then might as well forget about it.
I remember like 2-3 years ago when I played in a Canadian team I got pretty recognized but that died pretty quick when the game got a lot bigger really fast. This was back in the day where being low 5K was considered good, 4K was decent, now I anything below 5.5 is really questionable at best which is sad cause there are a lot of good players out there.
@Lex Yeah that's pretty true, thought would be fun to become pro gamer as your job but it's not the most reliable job. Also yeah hero picks are a big factor unless you're significantly better.

If you really want to do it, just do it. It's better to live without regrets. But if you are not sure, you shouldn't do it. It's not worth it if not even you are sure of it.
I love how havoc calls everything below 5.5 k - questionable, cos he recently hit 5.6 k. Why not calling everything under 5.7 k questionable ? lol
First things first u nned to get high MMR like really high (around 8.3K) just to be notice by ppl cause NO tier one or two team wants below low mmr like me....and it's harder to join a tier one team because they have their own playing style and teamplay so if a random player just joins their team cause he has 8.5k MMR is still going to fuck the team up cause their use to play with a certain style...for example Alliance ..like their team roster barely change for a quite some time.
See no problems with you becoming a pro, at 13 you are young enough to go to yhe doctor and get fake ADHD diagnosis.
Once you get meds that help you concentrate for 8hrs on one task, you can be a pro, it also helps if you are mildly autistic
If youre really 13 go for it... if you let people say you couldnt do something maybe its not for you.
People who achieved thins in life and want something in life got questioned even by ppl they love.

Just go for it, Atun is like 5.8 and reached Frankfurt. You're not too close nor too far, it's more about the teammates you get and the quality of teamwork you get with them.

He just threw his way to high 5k, he was 7k not long ago and could easily maintain 7k mmr if he took pubs slightly seriously
Zfreek is 5.3 or something for real though. It's not as much about MMR, it's also about knowing the right people.
JotM used to be 4k for4 a long while when he played, hes actually the lowest rated pro player i know.
Dunno about you, maybe if you try to improve you can try, you got a lot of time cuz ur young, but 2000 games and still barely 4k... That's really not great. If you were realy talented you would be at least 6k by now. Keep trying and improving maybe 1 day you will make it who knows.

Honestly id just say play the entry level tournaments and have fun with it, Realistically unless you're on the upper half of the mmr leaderboards you're not gonna get into a good team or any big prize pool tournaments. Ive played against Cechis stack and Goomba gaming and i just enjoyed it for what it was, so personally id just play the low $100-$5000 tournaments

lol about the college thing its because the high school I go to has the word College in it but its more or so a high school. I don't know how to prove I'm 13 but going on Skype hearing my voice lol but then people would think its a voice changer etc. As I said not my plan A in life. I reached 4k a lot of games before now I'm stuck here because I'm not improving at all so I need to find a way to do so.

Alright, I'm aware I might get flamed for this but this is mostly curiousity, I turned 13 not long ago, I go think I play my good heroes / decent heroes mostly around a 3.7k - 3.9k levels and heroes that I used to main at maybe a higher level. 4k-4k+ (however I maybe wrong) I was calibrated at 2k mmr and have made a climb to almost 4.2k (4.18k mmr-ish) I feel like at 13 years old this is a pretty decent standard. I've always been interested in gaming as a kid (still am a kid) I'm currently a freshman in college and this is not my plan A in life, but I'm just curious on and if its really possible. But safest route is definitely play dota 2 as a free time thing rest is for study :3. But I feel like if I really try hard don't lazy play (Don't pick random garbage that I can't play well every game while being too lazy to play my good heroes) Maybe I can reach 5k.
On that note I need some tips to reach 5k, I don't think I'm ready but I do think my first step is to analyze my replays because I know my decision making can be really garbage, which leads me to think I'm playing worse than I was before because I'm bad at the game
However I am looking forward to Benao's response if he posts as he has the most honest responses.
