Im playing party but rank only. WINS.17-LOSE-30
I started at 3.6 or something like that, it was literally when the ranked system came up and I didn't think much of it at the time. I played support a lot, didn't really climb for MMR after getting my rank, etc.
So I just played like normal without caring a lot and I got to about 3k hahaha now I am trying to go back up (literally started yesterday).
Now it's 3100... so still shit
solo 1.8k > 1.3k now 2.6k kappa
i dont know about my skill though mmr is never directly related to your overall skill, although it says something about how you play

Use your best hero (mine is kunkka invoker and pudge) , dont random hero and dont pick spectre, communicate friendly and watch pro games :)
Btw, I played spec on the beginning of my dota 2 journey, I was the first "badman" in dota I guess :D. Last spec match 26 days ago
I once got mmr down to 1.9k coz i got too cocky ( I only have 200+ hour playing pvp while almost 900+ hour playing unfair bots at that time).
For now i usually spam Dark seer in rank. Seriously no1 really know how to deal with ds in my skill bracket and thats how I boost from 1.9k - 2.2k. So far i have 100% winrate with ds and hope manage to reach 2.5k again.
I calibrated solo and party when i was really knew in the game (i only needed to reach lvl 13). I really love the game and stareted to watch my replays end pros playing. Learned a lot since then. And I'll keep climbing :)
Started playing last year and also calibrated when I was still very new to the game at 722 Party mmr. Am better now but still a noob with a party mmr hovering between 1.4 and 1.5k. Calibrated solo at 1101 mmr with winning 7 games and didn'y play any solo ranked since then.
Hoping to get 3k mmr some day for both Party and Solo and maybe even beyond If I keep improving.

I once got mmr down to 1.9k coz i got too cocky ( I only have 200+ hour playing pvp while almost 900+ hour playing unfair bots at that time).
