Probably it's useful on Drow.

Dusa was meant to manfight multiple targets anyways. You would have better benefitted from attack and tank items

It's legit, but we have to wait the International, when all pro players will start to buy it. It will fix the minds of average DOTA players.

Wouldn't get it on Medusa though since she doesn't really mind being right next to the enemy. Also I don't think it increases the range of her split shots, only the primary attack.

It most likely be best as a carry item on huskar. Have to try this!

Pretty expensive for what it gives, really only good on heroes who will like dragon lance anyway like drow, sniper and enchantress and that's about it.

I like it on veno lets him ult and then run away if needed or just use that force staff

I wouldnt say pike is good on Medusa, but it is good on some carries. Ta is actually really good with pike, enchantress and very weirdly slark.

Ok as a Medusa main I can say that the pike is not that great of an item, yes it gives you some attributes and some mobility but as the main carry (assuming you play her propperly) you should be the one tanking if you have the farm, and Dragon lance doesent allow that. Generally its not bad but the gold can be used for so many other things.

Im talking specialy about this Match pa was ultra fed so i thought i could escape her with the Pike, and I could also use it to dodge invo emp.

or you build manta (since they went silence way) and cast ult. Your stuff was horrible, but well, it didn't mattered that much considering how much your ally fed.

What you gained from those 130 range:
130 range
ability to not split shot some people, as split shot range is no inferior to your attack range (or did you go closer so you don't benefit from those 130 range ?)

active from hurrikane spike:
Self forcestaff (who need that on medusa ?)
active on enemy -> With your low single target damage, and no possibility to split shot enemy since you are so far, you gonna hurt people (mentality hurt them, cause it's like if you were charging a tank with a leaf as your sole weapon)

After that, we can admit dragon lance has super great stat for it's cost, but forcestaff on the other hand... one of the most garbage item on a carry. The forcestaff is only acceptable due to the strong active of hurrikane, which is garbage on medusa

Edit: speaking of cost effectif stat item : diffusal, great agi, some int, self silence dispell (eventually slow enemy) the only downside is you don't mana burn on splitshot (but main target take full damage from that mana burn, which got buffed AGAIN this patch)

good on mirana kappa, leap in pike out which i actually needed because their shaker was fucking jumping everywhere like a monkey with his aghs

that said dragon lance is the new drums on ranged heroes, and pike is a natural upgrade path when you run out of slots, or if you find the need for additional mobility

It works on drow but don't buy it as a first item.

Dragon Lance is enough and if you have spare gold you can go for Hurricane Pike.

I tried it on Slark one day, pretty much allowed me to get out of any situation, even jumping into a whole team with shadow dance.

hurricane pike is pretty bad choice for medusa, because your split arrow is defined range, while hurricane pike/dragon lance extend your attack range.

so, should you be carrying that item, you will be shooting in a longer range than your split arrow can be triggered, meaning you are wasting your attacks.

Should be good on semi carrys but on hard carry like Medusa its gold spent poorly.
