But it feels like aM is so much easier to counter compared to morph. And he doesn't 1v9 as well anymore. Seem like morph does a better job. Also he sucks against shadow demon

You just have to 4th/5th pick AM and most of the obnoxious counters won't come out. If you don't think he 1v9's as well anymore you are playing the hero wrong I think.

The hero still shits on 90% of stuff lategame, even in the rare games where you get outcarried there is room to outplay or just plain end faster.

i kinda feel bad when i play SK / ARC

people just say ''retarded arc/sk picker"

When you analyse replays what do you do exactly?

I've been playing less and watch replays of more experienced players by constantly pausing and guess "What would I do" if I face this situation.

This won't make me mechanically better player but hopefully work as training for decision making.

edit : oh nvm you already mentioned it. But what do you think about this disparity of information. replay watcher have more information & have plenty of time to apply it while actual players have to make everything work on the fly.

Some streamers do try to explain what was going on inside their mind but there's just too much things going on to capture with few sentences.

Not sure why u linked that match when am eats all 3 of their cores though

it's pretty much the quality of the information, even if you have a slow brain

you just learn it and predict something before it happens

you pretty much play on autopilot when you know what you're doing.

                V●ᴥ●V

AM just needs his team to buy him time to farm for the first 15-20 minutes so that he can have the basic items to speed farm and be self sustainable. After the gets fat he's pretty much unstoppable but if you have a really hard lane for AM in the beginning + keep ganking him and shutting him down it'll be hard to win the game later on when he goes into the late game without items.

Yeah well muscle memory and empirical learning is one thing but do you think abstracting/categorising player's decision making pattern is possible?

yep that's exactly what i do when i analyze, the mechanical stuff is simple and obvious. i attempt to figure out "how they think"

well i divide my analysis into 4 part:

                      1. figuring out what's happening/ making mental notes/ looking for patterns

                      2. then after i get some info i start creating some theories using all the possible data from their sorroundings, and re-watch that game to refine those ideas to be as simple as possible (so i don't run into that ''overcomplicated'' problem, like you've said, it'd be too hard replicate in real time)

i try to make my ideas like mathematical formulas, they have to be simple and efficient, and they can be used in different scenarios.

                      3. i open the next game and see if it repeats

if not, then i start making new ideas(this is the hard part that gives me headaches, i sometimes just can't generate the ideas anymore)

                      4. after all is done, final test is ''predicting''. i'd watch the next next game and i'd pause, try to exactly predict the next X amount of seconds or actions.

if i'm correct, then i move on. if i'm not then i go back to step 1 XD

what i would recommend is to pick one simple subject for every time you analyize, ex farming patterns, positioning, map rotations, map awareness

never try to do everything at the same time, your head will explode.

tl;dr i try to make ideas, test my ideas, then attempt to predict the future

                      tl:dr tl;dr a giant trial/error guessing game

have fun tryna win a game vs a fucking techies

sometimes it takes me 3-4 games to fully understand someone and be able to predict him.

sometimes, example when i wanted to learn arc, it took me about 40+ games of analysis to figure literally one simple detail which slipped by me every time.

                          edit, lol: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Empirical_research

i didn't know what empirical research stands for, googled it

but yea, i use that method. but i do it on the player's behavior, rather than the game.

since a person learns something by some kind of a formula/pattern, my job is just to figure out that formula.

another lovley thing about doing a full analysis is the ability to predict your opponent 100%

that's why i always have so many kills, i base my learning upon figuring out what the person thinks

you just nailed things I've been missing.
