If you don't have rune control, then I doubt it's worth it to even buy one (especially if you can't push out lanes)
600 gold can bring you quite a few salves/tangos/clarities. If you can save for that and have it brought to you via courier, you can have it brought to you when you are invoker/pa etc
SF and TA arguably need a bottle to sustain in lane since they use a lot of their mana pushing and don't have any easy health regen (like invoker)
But that's just my opinion, I rarely ever go mid. I just gank that lane
Jugg can get by on aquila + raindrops, if you're rotating the jungle a lot having a bottle to refill it on bounty runes isn't that bad, but it's nowhere near as necessary as it is to TA and SF

MK depends on how much you're spamming boundless strike, and what your lane is like, if you can't get jingu heal (and also have to use spells every time they're off cd to farm), get it

I've seen a change in the high MMR players looking at their streams, they almost never buy bottle on TA.
Item is kinda garbage right now. Needs two buffs imo:
1. As 0 charge bottle gives 2 charges with bounty rune, 1 or 2 charge bottle should give 3 total charges on picking bounty rune.
2. Increase HP and mana restored to 100/80. That aspect was overnerfed.
i wouldnt on mk, jugg either. it just kinda sucks
maybe mk actually because he benefits so muich from manaregen with max w but probably not
add 100 gold to your bottle investment and you can have a private courier to bottle for you to jungle
Bottle is so good on TA still, being one of the few heroes able to heal with bottle even when attacked is so strong.
you need like 3s to check top(day, for night is 5s) ruin and if you got luck you can pick. Also bounty ruins if you go from the lain, or use cour, in some low games you will see that people by bottle but don` t use that, so cour is only for you. :)
But bottle is more dependent for heroes, and your play stile. TA, SF,PA, Wind, QoP, Puck needs bottle, but if you go sniper or Invo, or ursa, OD... don`t waste money.
I like to by bottle for Weaver, but most of time you don`t see bottle on him.
And something what i saw from pro player(maybe i`m wrong cause ii don` t watch much) that in your team should be only only bottle user. But it `s make sense for me.

It's a lot better to rush early stats and clarity ferry.
boytle for ta is good she had ulti plus u always save dd haste or regen in ottle when needed
also imo if u secure midd all runes most likely u gona win
I only play sniper and viper mid so I don't bottle. *shrug* If I play DK mid I'll get bottle to spam fire breath and push the t1.

I remember before all bottle nerfs i played only mid and bottle on every hero it was nice,now its not even worth ....mid players staying mid anyway lul,so i think its every game decision,can't rly say you go bottle on this hero or not every time
As an avid jugg player all I gotta say is, please don't go mid with Jugg.
And it's ok to skip bottle when you don't have need for it.
For example, Necro benefits more from a second null than a bottle. So it's ok to skip bottle on him.
Viper has no need for bottle (he benefits more from finishing aquila and wand).
SF, Pugna, Storm, and Tinker need bottle because it lets them clear waves and potentially run ganks.

viper doesnt need regen he just wins lanes
same thing for mk
pa benefits more from buying items to abuse dagger, and to get kill potential at lvl 6, (phase, blight, wand, maybe aquila) and has no mana problems
invoker doesnt need bottle cuz he wants to stay in lane at all times i think, and already has quas hp regen
od has infinite mana
u usually dont need bottle on these kinds of heroes, im sure u guys can do the thinking for urselves

I'm so glad I decided to go through this page even at 3am here, this is a great read of a thread, good game knowledge to pick up. I've been wasting too much on bottle it seems, when I play OD or SF.
Bottle crow in 2017? There are shrines, there are 2 bounty runes for your side of the river(just give bottle to support, he bottles and activates rune, then gives back to you, w the 2 charges), and the traditional runes are still there to be taken(though leaving mid even for a second feels like wasted resources, because of the extra creep for gold and xp, supposedly)

bottle crowing only applies when u dont have rune access, and ur a mana intensive hero, smth like qop, lina, puck, storm, maybe sf
supports literally always have something better to do than be a walking bottle courier.

I get that Bottle is core on Storm Spirit and Tinker, but on other mid heroes like TA, PA, Jugg, SF, OD, MK, Invoket? Is it wrong to feel that Bottle is a speedbump on those heroes?
