Sven's cleave damage distribution in General Discussion
Rogue Knight

He can crit up to 2.2k but with double damage it is equivalent to 2.4k or up with this build (Bkb Daedalus mkb silver edge for stats rather blink satanic treads and moon shard),but his cleave is 66%,if i hit the primary target while enemy team is in front of the cleave considering it crits up to 2.2k or with dd is 2.4k and up,then what is the damage to the cleaved enemies?

    chicken spook,,,,

Damage main target taken timed by the percentage, the cleaved target's armor doesn't matter, although it doesn't really count as pure damage because GS or any form of physical dmg resistance neglects the cleave damage
That's why you usually hit the squishiest fuck first while cleaving on the high armor target

      Rogue Knight

So if I hit the lowest life then the damage from it is equivalent to the cleaved?

        chicken spook,,,,

          What????

          Xignum

we have no idea what you're saying

            Luxon

The cleaved damage is 66% of 2.2k.
What part of this confuses you?

              Rogue Knight

I mean if I hit the lowest life enemy then the damage will be like the same around the cleave or not? It's kinda confusing tho...

                Rogue Knight

@Luxon 2.2k DMG is like a 100% but he has this 66% cleave, then what is the equivalent of the damage when he cleaved enemies?

                  Demigod

                    You mean this.

2.2k is his primary citical damage when GS is active right?

                    Considering he has a 66%cleave,then

2200 multiplied by .65 cleave that cleaves through the enemy then the critical around Sven is

                    2200x.65=1430 crit cleave.

2200 is his critical damage on the primary target then the 1430 is the sub critical on the cleaved area considering it negates armor,it goes through no matter how high your armor is

                      2.2k multiplied by 66% = 1.45k damage.
Even if the target you hit has 100 HP, the cleaved damage will be 66% of your full damage(1.45k).

                      Rogue Knight

Ok I get it now thanks 👌

                        Riguma Borusu

HP is a real value. It can go bellow zero. When you crit for 2.2k you have dealt 2.2k damage according to the game, even if the target only had 100 health. This is dont for the purest form of consistency, for things like oracle's ult to work and so that the cleave mechanic works as intended.

It is still confusing why cleave ignores armor, tho, because it was a wc3-specific limitation, dota 2 has no need to respect that mechanic, especially since the new engine had done away with certain legacy things already.

                            A

^ its like to think where am blink / mirana leap

                              Luxon

If cleave didn't ignore armor they would have to increase the % and it would be good vs creeps and shit vs heroes, requiring different balancing and would pretty much be just a farming tool(more than now).

                                chicken spook,,,,

Why think where they will go if you stun them real quick 🌚

basic math is too hard as it seems

                                      I'm with luxon

                                      Demigod

Oh yeah i also forgot the double damage possession on the rogue knight

Normal crit when gs is active:2200x0.65=1430

Double Damage plus GS with crit:2540x0.65=1651

                                        If you want more then....

GS plus Divine Rapier with critical considering removing treads:2550x0.65=1657.5 or round off to 1658 round off again then 1660

Gs with magnus empower plus crit:2430x(0.65+0.50)=2794.5 or round off to 2795 round off again then 2800

If you want the real deal then....

Gs with divine, with double damage and empower plus crit and a bonus break damage from silver edge:3340x(0.65+0.50)=3841 crit damage on cleave and this was shown that the cleave is now a higher proximity than hitting the primary target

"THIS IS GOING TO BE ABSURD!!!"-Sven

                                        Any question?

@Demigod is that for reals?damn that's way too absurd

                                            Szczeniarz Brzeczyszcyski

2,4k crit damage with god's strength active and 65% cleave equals to 1,5k crit damage to the rest of the targets.

                                              Demigod

Yeah it is real and he literally hits more than a rampaging truck

                                                TheMaverick427

Cleave is based on Sven's Outgoing damage, not the damage the primary enemy receives.

                                                  So it would be:
Outgoing damage = (Base damage*base damage multipliers + bonus damage)*overall damage multipliers*crit multiplier.

This is where the cleave damage is taken from.

The damage calculation for the primary attack then carries on:
Final damage = (Outgoing damage*multiplicative special damage modifiers - additive special damage modifiers - damage block)*armour reduction*multiplicative damage multipliers

This is the damage the primary target will receive from the autoattack. Depending on how much armour the primary target has (and other damage reductions he might have) the heroes hit by cleave can take more damage than the primary target.
