First game the highest mmr was divine 1
game two the highest mmr was ancient 5, and I stomped.
and the third game the highest mmr was a div 5 who was 5.9k maybe? and the enemy had a 6k lesh.
The reason why this is interesting is because the average went down as expected, but after I stomped the 2nd game, it seem to swang back up, which I have never seen before in the old calibration games I've played on my smurfs.
Just had my first 3 calibration games. Luck continues for me. First game: 2 players dropped. Needless to say on my side. Second game: Mid and safelane lost hard from min 1, even fb at rune. Game 3: Mid picked invoker, told everyone he sucks hard with him and muted everybode. *sigh*
Does individual performance take into account that you loose and compare it other lost games of other people?
can some1 tell me how many games or how long i need to play to reach 1 star or 1 MEDAL ,is it 6months season ? or if i win like 50games in row i can instantly get divine? some1 explain it pls ?
is there any fuckin ADMIN from valve in this fuckin FORUM ? or its just 2-3k mmr ppl spamming all they know about dota?
wanna know if i can make new acc and get DIVINE ? is this possible or not ? and how many games / months i need to reach one medal ?
@Valv€ ur so Funny :D
You need to atleast have 5040 MMR to get divine
every 840 mmr = higher medal (You can check your MMR on your stats profile)
herald : 0 - 840
guardian : 840 - 1680
crusader : 1680 - 2520
archon : 2520 - 3360
legend : 3360 -4200
ancient : 4200 - 5040
divine : 5040 +
You can get divine if you have the skillset of a 5k player, How many games for one medal depends on how often you win
man i was playing normal games on new acc 5500+ only 5500+ so i ask i got 4k acc old one didnt play like 5 years so if i celibrate on "legend" how many games or how much time i need to play to get divine ? can u explain it ?
i got skillset of 7k player.... "hoe often you win" that means ? if i win 40 of 50 games will i get medal instantly or after 6 months , can u explain me this?
No every 6months the Medal/Rank will reset and you will have to re-caliberate your rank again. The previous medal you got before the reset will be displayed in your profile.
You only need 10 games to recaliberate when it resets.
And yes when you keep winning and you rank up you will get the medal instantly, You don't have to wait 6 months
Guys I'm gonna feed hard and see whether or not the mmr is predetermined. I'll update it here.
#ForTheSakeOfResearch :)
I havent played any calibration game so far
If you guys could contribute to our graph plots, this would be appreciated. So far 1,004 points is giving us a decent picture but its showing that the first 5 medal tiers contain slightly more than 50% of the playerbase while the other 50% of the playerbase is squished into Legend 4-Divine 5. This either means a terribly-designed system or it means we just don't have enough data yet (probably the latter, which is why I'm asking here). We need more to tell more accurately and right now most of the people who have shared data with us are in the upper tiers.
man this whole system is a fuckup, I dunno what was the point of this reset
they took a long time to bring this out, even extended their deadline and all it turned out to be was just a mmr reset which added a whole lot of unbalance to the matchmaking
Because medals are awesome. And maybe they don't want the mmr to deflate. When mmr first came, top players in the leaderboard were between 5.5 and 6.5. Just before this update they were 7.5-10k maybe.
^
I think this system is to address two issues.
1) For very high mmr players the new system address mmr inflation every 6 months so top players no longer get 10k mmr
2) For low mmr players like myself it is an incentive to keep playing this game as it allows you to keep your mmr at a certain level.
Let's say if I maximally achieve archon status during this six months but my acutal MMR falls to guardian status prior to the next reset. As the next calibration only take your peak status into account I would be calibrating at a level higher than the level I would have calibrated if they only take my current mmr into account.
Whether this is a better system is debatable but it will certainly incentivize lower mmr players like myself to keep playing rather than give up.
I'll try to do the riki feed and let you guys know how much I drop
Old solo mmr: 4325
Old party mmr: 2313
New solo mmr: 4215 Ancient with no stars
New party mmr: 9 games left to calibrate
So its confirmed that you can only get a few hundred higher or lower
It depends maybe.
So far I am 3-0
First game the highest mmr was divine 1
game two the highest mmr was ancient 5, and I stomped.
and the third game the highest mmr was a div 5 who was 5.9k maybe? and the enemy had a 6k lesh.
The reason why this is interesting is because the average went down as expected, but after I stomped the 2nd game, it seem to swang back up, which I have never seen before in the old calibration games I've played on my smurfs.
Will update as I continue my games.
How is this new mmr system works???
Apparently ancient is 4.2k
Old solo 3.2
New solo 3.4
8 win 2 lose
Legend
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
solo OLD:4353
solo NEW:4358
Rank : Ancient 1
calibration 5 won 5 lose
Just had my first 3 calibration games. Luck continues for me. First game: 2 players dropped. Needless to say on my side. Second game: Mid and safelane lost hard from min 1, even fb at rune. Game 3: Mid picked invoker, told everyone he sucks hard with him and muted everybode. *sigh*

^ not possible for you. No need of being an "admin"
old mmr 4.6k solo, 3.7k party
ancient 2 i think
edit: so far only played 4 games, going to play full support in all 10 games
man i was playing normal games on new acc 5500+ only 5500+ so i ask i got 4k acc old one didnt play like 5 years so if i celibrate on "legend" how many games or how much time i need to play to get divine ? can u explain it ?

Old 4674
calibration 7-3
Ancient 3
starting mmr: 5150
ending mmr: 5303
overall thoughts: literally those matches just gave +-25 per game
went 8 W / 2 L
so +150 mmr
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@Valv€ ur so Funny :D

current medal: Legend 4

I havent played any calibration game so far
Old - 5250
New - 4914
7/10 games won
Avg gpm 650, all stats great. However my behavior score is super low. Maybe that's why I only got fucking Ancient 4. It makes no sense.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Old SOLO MMR - 3905
New SOLO MMR - 3979
Current medal LEGEND 4
7/10 Wins
Old MMR 5209
New MMR 5268
Divine 1
6W 4L
C0000kiiiii calibrazioooon

you don't know if you're gonna get the 5k team or the 7k team.
Old solo mmr: 3452
old party mmr: 3.3k
current medal: Legend (0 Stars)
New mmr: 3502

old 4,3
new 3,9
legend 3
team tbd
so legend is basically 3 - 4,5k? is there any overview?
Idk what you guys are talking about
I calibrated in 4 or 5 games
Not 10 like everyone thinks and says.
4 more matches pogchamp. So far I'm hovering around divine 1-5 as the highest mmr is always div 5.
4-2
As support: 1-2
As core: 3-0
old solo mmr : 3150
old party mmr 1900
current medal : archon 4 , on profile says 3239 , party tbd

Old Party: 3333
Archon 5 - ingame says MMR is 3350.
And I managed to not play Invoker once in calibration.
can anyone give me an argument as to why this new system was adopted and why it was supior to the previous numbered system??
Thank you
@Imprecis How the fuck did u get only A4?? I mean some 4.8k ppl were getting A5?
Also your calibration games were good.

What this system does is in 6 months time you lose most of the mmr you gained after new calibration.
old solo : 4.3k
old party: 3.3k
callibration: 1 win-9 lose
Legend 3
win 1-> Legend 4
just went from 6141 to 6365 in 1 game lmao
u mean u dont gain/lose 25 anymore or what?
@ywn-
Was it win or loss?
Qsnake got +184 from a lost Timbersaw game @ Divine.
