Wouldnt u be better off building boots of travel and constantly applying pressure to the other teams lanes with the cooldown talent?
greaves is a defensive item that also greatly benefits team (you could compare it to, like, a bkb or a linkens, but perhaps even stronger than them) - also shadow fiend relies on his teammates a lot, so building team items isn't a bad idea for him, especially because he can usually afford it.
so you can't compare bots and greaves as they serve different purposes. though some games if you don't need items to kill (team is ahead, has good setup) bots first is very strong, you can 'tinker' the map by using tp scroll with bots simultaneously. However Treads are still the default I think.
it isnt just greaves it is greaves combine with the usually vlads and crimson build from ur offlaner. The combine vlads, greaves and crimson armor is insane ur team cannot die.
