What is that huge box for and what does it do?
It's my receiver, or the sound processor, which powers all of my speakers and processes the audio for my PC and does a good job of managing that. It is a bit funky when you use HDMI though lol, I'm gonna stop using that now that I think about it; I no longer use Dolby Atmos, its software became buggy. It has useful features such as sound processing configuration, called "program" which can, for example, extend 2ch stereo to 7ch stereo so that all of your speakers are used.
^for the ones of you that didn't understand.
I'll translate to a easier to understand language:

I only see one speaker. You it’s useful for when you have many speakers ?
There's another klipsch on the left and two KEF's in the back. Actually, it's useful for even one wired speaker because PC's don't have connections for this kind of speaker AFAIK. All of those cables you see that are black and red are for my speakers.
Oh yeah, and a center Klipsch speaker I forgot. All of the speaker names are written on my steam profile if you are curious.
So what are you gonna do with it? Make songs? Make your neighbour's lives hell?
I don't like to buy things that don't last me long. I've found out that I am quite a minimalist who likes to stay centralized, and that I want to have $1M+ in savings eventually, but I do like to have a few good things that will last me a long time.
I used to have a Logitech stereo speaker setup with a subwoofer, it was good, lasted me 6 years for $60. However, I wanted to have surround sound capabilities as well as to experience uncompressed audio at or near its highest form of expression. I am not OK with Logitech, I also have a mouse of theirs the G700s and the problems with its software would make for a long list of problems. It's something you can work with if that's your thing--if you want to live like that, with problems. I don't like that, even a $15 mouse will give me less problems. You'll find with moderately priced devices such as my $60 car dashcam that the money is not well spent; it will break down quickly because the software and hardware engineers are simply not good enough, which makes sense since the product is not priced highly. This is the problem with trying to find a middle ground where your device somehow has high-quality features and a low price. I know that Yamaha and Klipsch and KEF are all great brands, the best of the best. If I take care of this stuff, it should last me 10 to 20 years. That's beautiful to me, no one wants to spend time with something that's problematic.
I won't be making my own music, and my neighbors can hardly hear the speakers because I keep it at -28db, however, it does go up to 50db or so which is ridiculously loud, you can hear that at least a house away from my room. I enjoy listening to lots of music, and it's true that with a system like this you hear all of the subtleties of the song which I like. I use it to play Dota 2 as well, the surround sound is not very useful there and it's pretty useless in movies IMO, but I'm happy with my purchase. I can feel the vibrations going through my body from the subwoofer a room away if the gain is maxed out, it's clean and showcases how a sub should actually be. It makes me want some nice speakers in my car too, I feel like a little kid bumping music with these cheap speakers from Y2K.
I have an audio engine a2 which connect to each other via red and black cables. Then there’s a 3.5mm connection to pc. How should I connect a subwoofer to this bad boy ?
I would also recommend buying the amp and the subwoofer used. Find you a refurbished subwoofer, No more than $250 is perfect, but $100 should be great too.
Finally someone interested in quality listening experience for music.. nice speaker(s) (assuming you could only fit one in the frame) you got there, Klipsch are top notch and will definitely last you 2 decades with a little bit of maintenance. I've still got 2 of my dads Yamaha tower speakers which was bought in the early 90s and they still work absolutely fine, perks of buying quality products.
Though I do have to ask, is it a good idea to keep you speaker on the Pre-amp which you have there? Looks kinda risky considering the heat and vibration

I have mounting brackets for my monitor and all of my speakers that I could install if I wanted to, but I'm really comfortable tbh.
