The book u mentioned isn't normally considered a masterpiece of sci fi literature and thus im not too sure what u'd like to find.
Lem's Solaris
Gibson's Neuromancer (personally disliked it, but its magnum opus in cyberpunk)
Bradbury's Dandelion Wine
Asimov's Foundation and I, Robot
Herbert's Dune (i admit I havent read this one, its just commonly conaidered classic)
Dick's Do androids dream of electric sheep
Adams' Hitchiker's guide to the galaxy (easiest read out of listed books)
Huh, Ive been reading 2-3 books daily for a decade at some point
Its the only hobby i spent more time doing than playing pc games //
the foundation series and the dune series are amazing. I've read both and would recommend all 5 books in both series.
Also @TripleSteal- how do you have the time to read 2 books a day and play Dota? I'm lucky if I read 3 books in a month nowadays.
^i do neither atm
i did read a lot when i was studying at school and uni, mostly during classes
Ancillary Justice
Station Eleven
Ender's Game
Foundation series is the best from asimov, but a lot of the rest is outdated as many discoveries made his older work about planets incorrect
Bradbury's martian chronicles or whatever is decent, but a lot of it has to do with his way of telling a narrative
A lot of people recommend Clarke's stuff but I found his world building to be very subpar
If you haven't found "any other book that has the same quality of it" then you haven't read much.
yeah!! Will start reading Asimov's. Looking for pdf of it cause im a broke boi
I like how Philip Dick honestly admitted that he writes his books under affect of certain "chemicals". I think many modern writers do the same, they just don't tell... =)
^its part of the identity of his generation of writers (working in 60-70s).
Kesey, Hunter S. Tompson, Timothy Leary, Castaneda to some extent, etc. - focused a lot on altered conciousness, LSD, etc. Early years of hippie culture.
Best SF series I've ever read is Dune. Once you get into the books there's no stopping anymore!
i guess i would be able to read a bit less than that with my reading speed back when i used to read - but usually with my pace, i would be subconciously skipping some of the text and not being to recall it without reading again which made it much slower
and if i read a book in one day, i can hardly remember what was it about overall. i would remember the parts if someone else told me but i wouldn't come up with a plot summary on my own without skimming through the book
yea i don't know why would you read 3 books a day, even if you paid attention and didn't just parse text you need some time to really digest what you've read. a good analogy would be listening to a music album once, forming your opinion upon first listen and then never listening to it again - there's absolutely no way you have processed it enough on first listen, even if you paid close attention
yeah i cant even remember what individual songs sound like if i dont listen to an album at least three times, it all gets mangled.
I parse emotions through myself when reading rather than reflax on a certain book for days. It gives(d) me joy.
Neuromancer - William Gibson (personal favourite)
The End of Eternity - Asimov
The Other Gods - Asimov
Rendezvous with Rama - Clark
Please IceFrog, release patch ffs

Red Cixin Liu's Three Body Problem. Can't find any books that has the same quality or better than it? Any suggestions?
