Comeback after stopping for 2 years, how does calibration works now? in General Discussion

is it better to play more normal until i meet more higher ranked match or just go calibrate?

When you created this account, what option did you select in the start of the game? "I've played Dota 2 before" ?
Otherwise, it's hard to figure out why you're still in archon-legend bracket after a 66% winrate.

I would suggest keep playing for a bit longer and see if anything changes in your games, though I doubt at this point your hidden MMR will change alot. The uncertainty factor reduces the more you play so changes are smaller. If you calibrate now, you will most likely start calibration games at Legend 1 and can calibrate between Archon 1 and Ancient 1 depending on wins.

Calibration is only based on W/L now.

I have no idea too, I did chose "I've played Dota 2 before"
probably cuz i logged in on my old steam account before
last time I was so tilted on losing streak and recalibration 7/10 but drop 500 more mmr so i quit
        peak was 4.8k years ago
most of the time around low 4k and high 3k
lose streak tilted to low 3k and that time recalibration just release, i tried but... dropped to 2k ish after 7 wins...

come back recently cuz accidentally watched some guides on youtube and remember this game lul

maybe i try play more match and see, around 15 more hrs needed for ranked

how does hidden mmr in normal match works now? maybe cuz i was playing support most of the time?

Hidden MMR's main reference is your MMR on the last account you played with on that PC / Email. I can confirm this because Immortal players will get Immortal players in the first few matches on a new account as well. After that, it changes based on BOTH your performance as well as your win/ loss. Generally, if you win alot, it will keep going up.
